Based on the wildly popular photographic art property from Japan called THE DOG, Scholastic's The Dog World is a virtual world where kids can adopt their own dogs, play games, have fun, and hopefully learn a thing or two about man's best friend.

During registration, each player chooses their own dog's breed, traits and abilities, and also gets to choose and decorate their own dog house. Once this is done, players can play games and take quizzes throughout The Dog World, in order to earn "bones." Kids who've unlocked codes can use these "bones" to buy virtual food, toys, and other items for their dog and doghouse. They also need to walk and feed their dog so they can keep it healthy.
